2011 Hot Summer Fun Wednesdays at Mohegan Sun Schedule

Wednesdays at Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Connecticut are great fun for the entire family. Yes, that’s right, I said family – at a casino? If you have never been to one of their free Rooftop events you just have to make the trip.

Every Wednesday from July 1st to August 31st on the rooftop of the Riverview Garage at Mohegan Sun there are all kinds of things going on from a rooftop battle of the bands to a classic car show, tribal dancers, local farmer’s market and then fireworks top off the evening.

Food portions will be sold for $2.00 and proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross Charter Oak Chapter.  In previous years, cook- off proceeds have raised over $270,000 for charities including the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, Habitat for Humanity, the American Red Cross Armed Forces Emergency Services Fund and Uniformed Firefighters’ Association Widows’ and Children’s Fund of Greater New York.

Enter the weekend in style with a free T-shirt each week beginning July 1st as part of the Free Shirt Fridays!  Every Friday during Hot Summer Fun, guests can receive a free T-shirt.  It’s simple, beginning at 9:00am each Friday, the first 5,000 Player’s Club members at the Summer or Riverview Coat Checks will receive a free T-shirt. Guests will be allowed one shirt per Player’s Club member each week and are encouraged to stop by weekly as the color changes each week.

New for 2011 is the Tiki Bar on the rooftop.

You never even have to step foot in the casino or gamble. If you go I suggest that you bring lawn chairs and maybe a blanket. They close off most of the garage rooftop and you can sit anywhere for the evening. If you don’t bring a chair you will be standing all night because they don’t provide any. They have food you can buy but if you want you can also bring you own picnic to eat.

The Sizzling Summer Showdown follows at 7:30 pm in which area bands battle it out for the chance to be the winner of a $3,000 grand prize and a gig in the Wolf Den. Check out the rules to participate with your band.

Weekly Hot Summer Fun Schedule at Mohegan Sun Casino:

• 5:00 pm: local Farmer’s Market and Classic Car Show Begins
• 6:00 pm: Rooftop Rock off Battle of the Bands Competition
• 5:00 pm – 10:00 pm: Tiki Bar club (21 or older)
• 9:00 pm: Fireworks Extravaganza Display*

*Rain dates are scheduled for Thursdays. Call 1-888-226-7711 for additional information. Wild Wednesdays are community events open to guests of all ages. Guests under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian upon entering the building.
